Digital Check Corp (DCC)Westcon Africa is proud to partner Digital Check (DCC) in Africa. For over a decade Digital Check (DCC) has been marketing small desktop cheque and document scanners with a vision that eventually every bank in the country would be scanning images and clearing on those images rather than on the paper document. It wasn’t until October 28, 2003 that that vision took a giant leap toward reality with the passage of the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (Check 21). One year later, on October 28, 2004 the law took effect allowing banks to scan and truncate checks at that point.
Technology had finally converged to the point where banks could not only deploy Digital Check scanners at their branches, but also at their corporate, small business, and merchant customers.
Image exchange is now a reality and banks can now do away with the passage of paper. Banks are rolling out major teller and branch deployments. Merchants are beginning to process checks in their back offices. The market has finally caught up to the vision that Digital Check had over a decade ago.
